This Monday Chris nominated Alec Soth for our weekly challenge. Soth is an American photographer and a member of Magnum Photos, based in Minneapolis, who makes “large-scale American projects” featuring the midwestern United States. For full bio click here
Alec Soth is a fantastic visual story teller and my admiration for his work and process continues to grow. He created numerous inspirational projects over the years which you can find here on his website.
This is a real challenge because picking just one image of his is like picking your favourite paragraph from a book or singing a chorus without a verse..
Nevertheless, here it is:
The reason: every time I look at this image I make up something different, I notice something that I haven’t noticed before and also think how it relates to the series from which it comes from. You can check out this article if you’d like to learn more.
