They call it a National sport here in France. I’m used to it by now. Almost every time when there is a new law to be introduced, you can be sure some part of the French population would not be happy.
Last year the protests around the country turned ugly and violent, thankfully this time all went well… This is only the beginning though, for the elected French president.

Thanks Victor. Yes i think everyone was relieved by that fact. It was pretty civil this time around. Too early to call it a day though. Some more protests coming..
Wow, Yuri, this is real photo journalism. I’m really impressed! Marcus
Many thanks Marcus. Im quite happy with the results.
Brilliant work. I’m attending a demonstration at the weekend. I’ll take my camera…
Thanks Ian. Its not really my thing to photograph in crowds but its a good practice and a way to get out of your comfort zone. Good luck !
You’ve taken dramatic advantage of the atmosphere…all that smoke (I take it that it comes from flares and not tear gas!?)…by shooting into the light and exposing to give it detail while the figures become silhouettes. Great shooting!
Yes thank you. It was the flares. Was really happy they used them as it added to the atmosphere like you said. Cheers!
Great read, thanks
