From today, France is on quarantine. The state of emergency due to the Covid-19 virus is all around Europe.
I still have to go to work in the mornings. All food supplies shops remain open and as I work in a bakery, I’m no different. Bakeries in France are close to religion and probably the most visited place after restaurants. So anyone, who has a similar job, food shopping to do or urgent medical visit, can go out but only with a document that justifies it. Tough measures for difficult times. This is the second wave of restrictions the French people received in 4 days as the first one was not respected as people were seen hanging around in parks, meeting with friends etc. This one should work… Only time will tell and we must stay positive and helpful to each other.
After reading this post from Dan James, where he included some positive and interesting links to check out, I would like to add my two cents and share some old images that might and hopefully bring a smile to your face. Pass the torch friends and hang in there wherever you may be. Take care of yourself and your loved ones. Yuri
We’re all in this together, all over the world! We just get to be in it together from our own homes, in semi-isolation.
Well said Jim, thanks for your comment!
Thanks Yuri. And thank you for being there for your day job as well. Bread is essential for the french, as you said. Joke aside, it is essential to eat, and thanks to people like you, the confinement is a little less harder. Take good care of yourself.
Thanks Philipe for your kind words. Stay safe.
honestly, there are so many brilliant shots here, each deserves a separate post!!
you are a baker, Yuri? that is fantastic, I’m in awe for anyone who can bake and cook really… : )
the situation is so bizarre, it’s great you still go to work, helping people start their days with freshly baked goodies 🙂 take care!!
thank you Alexandra, appreciate it! it’s not easy but some of us have to do what we have to do. I must admit, it’s nice to get out of the house, just trying to stay careful and avoid any contact… 🙂
That last pic!!! 😂❤️ Stay safe
Many thanks. You too!
We’re waiting for a local shelter-in-place order any day as our hospitals are getting terribly overwhelmed though I’m not sure what exactly the order will be like relative to other communities. People in the U.S. can be so individualistic to a fault, used to their freedoms and distrustful of government that I’m really concerned about how effectively we’ll be able to flatten the curve for new cases unless far more drastic measures are taken to get people to understand what we’re dealing with. Thanks for sharing these images Yuri. I enjoyed them and I would send well-wishes your way, as well.

Thank you Jason. Stay safe and take care of yourself and your family
Thanks for the inspiring pictures Yuri, some very funny stuff there and some great captures. I hope you are doing okay in the midst of this situation.
Thanks Andrew. Doing ok, thank you for your thoughts.
Your pictures have made my day Yuri – long live street photography; the only way to make sense of this crazy world (as long as we still have baguettes!)
Thanks a lot for your comment James! Happy I could cheer you up. We all need to stick together and keep positive waves flowing at the moment. Take care!
